Medsblock uses blockchain technology to allow better data security and transparency for the healthcare industry. The decentralised model gives stakeholders more  control over their health conditions.
MedsBlock, established in 2018, is a platform that specializes in management of online health services. They will move from a research function to a more active using Blockchain technology to solve some pressing health related issues in the industry.
The concept of Medsblock was mooted in early 2016 by a group of Healthcare practitioners and patients. The initial group took time to explore and navigate the healthcare system. Then spent time to derive the business model.
What sets them apart from other blockchain based medical companies is that they have created a mechanism that provides a trusted system. They want to ensure that the services provided give for greater levels of transparency and privacy for their client’s data while at the same time, better facilitate the healthcare needs of the patients.
MedsBlock will be based on a decentralized platform that allows users to access and exchange their data in a rapid, secure and transparent manner. With the use of blockchain technology, MedsBlock will give conditional access to doctors, hospitals, laboratories, pharmacist and insurers, creating a community of healthcare professionals which allows them to interact to ensure that our patients receive the best healthcare advice and treatments.
The interactions that take place on the platform would be kept auditable, transparent and secure to ensure the privacy for our users. This platform is kept open and allows users to further their idea development for the benefit of the community. The team is developing applications and additional services that benefits everyone. For example, TelehealthBlock. TelehealthBlock is an application that they are developing that allows our users to have an early assessment or consultation based on their most recent visit to the clinics via email, telephone or video call. The whole process would be recorded and stored as part of their e-medical record on the blockchain. This makes the whole process more efficient and would benefit both parties. Again, all the contents of discussions during the session will be recorded and be placed on our chain, information will never be altered or changed.
